Rooted in the authentic teachings of Joseph Pilates and passed down to his protege Romana Krysonawska, this method blends precise movements, controlled breathing, and the development of a strong Powerhouse. Classical Pilates focuses on the entire body, emphasising the interconnectedness of muscles and promoting balance, flexibility, and strength.
Unlike contemporary Pilates, which may incorporate modern variations and is often only offered on the Reformer or the Mat, and clinical Pilates, which often targets specific rehabilitative needs, Classical Pilates adheres closely to the original principles and offers a variety of equipment that can be used in classes and private sessions.
